VISCERAL DANCE
Solo percussion collaborations with the Visceral Dance Chicago contemporary company choreographed by artistic director Nick Pupillo: Vital and an evening-length The Dream with the Chicago Philharmonic.
Vital was created for Dance for Life's 25th Anniversary, for an audience of 2,400 at Chicago's Auditorium Theater in a performance also featuring Visceral Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance, the Joffrey Ballet, and more.
"The ingenious percussion Peter Ferry... in a bristling onstage performance that was a dance all its own"
- The Chicago Sun-Times
"Using live music, he experiments with ever greater loss of control, and that abandon does wonderful things for the dancers, who look better than ever, and for the audience." - The Chicago Tribune
"It truly filled the stage with electricity and excitement... Ferry's presence amongst the dancers brought energy and passion needed to make the piece a standout star. Vital teaches us that a life without passion is truly no life at all."
- The Chicago Stage Standard
"This event is Dance for Life... and Visceral Dance Chicago will perform an excerpt from "VITAL," artistic director Nick Pupillo's work set to a fierce percussion piece played live by the astonishing Peter Ferry." - The Chicago Sun-Times
These works are best suited for venues equipped for a full theatrical production.
